Report – CITCO round 6 – 22 June – Kikuoka
The sun came out for the Grand Duke. Unbelievable but true. A smaller field that usual – can’t believe that fireworks held greater attraction that golf especially as a number who played went off to watch them (or at least drink lots) after their round.
First order of the day was to award Colin his pink ball from round 5 – the pink ball never gets away Colin even if start the next round.
The sun didn’t appear to improve scores very much though, standard scratch was one shot better than the week before at 13.
Nearest the pin went to Paul Goes who was pleased to tell everyone who didn’t ask that he got the birdie.
Longest drive went to Jonny.
The leary – yes there was one on the 9th hole as there is now every outing with FROGS and as notified by Colin in his starter’s email so stop making excuses that you don’t know about it or on which hole its on. ASK THE STARTER, went to Botty.
Minor Committee moan – if you know you will not be at prize giving please don’t put your name on the NTP etc…
Worst (and best) guest went to Michael Lee with 11 points.
First place went William for the second time this year – he seems to be the only one with a realistic chance of catching Fred on the overall.
Second was Paul on 17 with Delboy Who??? in third on 16.
Craig and Stevie B!!! taking the minor placings on 15 and 14 respectively.
The pink ball was not quite as close as before with Frank and Fred (its way past his bedtime) Sudret not winning it on 6 points (even if Fred’s was only after 6 holes). With a remarkable 4 points the Italian stallion Andy P took the honours.
For the CITCO overall Fred still leads (boring) on 77 followed by Paul on 68, Botty on 65 and Craig on 63.
There’s one Stibbe matchplay result to report Mark H beat our starter 1 up.
Second Committee moan – FROGS depends on volunteers to survive so we were pleased to be inundated not with offers to assist at events. Without this we will not continue.
The next event is CITCO round 7 at Preisch on 29 June and will be started by William.
You will also have received an email from Gregor regarding the Ryder Cup. Get your names into him ASAP.
